Summer Sky Ride local programme offers fun, free cycling in the East Riding.
East Riding residents are invited to dust off their bikes and make the most of a new programme of free, guided bike rides this summer.
East Riding of Yorkshire Council has joined forces with British Cycling to bring a series of Sky Ride Local bike rides to the area, starting in June.
Sky Ride Locals are guided by friendly British Cycling Ride Leaders along scenic, planned routes. The rides cater for all ages and abilities and run at three different levels so there’s something for everyone, whether you’re building your confidence or already comfortable on a bike and looking for a challenge.
Councillor Chris Matthews, cabinet portfolio holder for infrastructure, highways and emergency planning, said: “Cycling has never been more popular, especially with the Tour De France and the Tour de Yorkshire taking place in our county. Whatever your age or fitness level, it’s easy to get involved with Sky Ride Local.
“We’re delighted to be working with British Cycling to make it even easier for local people to get out on their bikes and have some fun this summer.”
